My Wish For You

One of the commitments I am making to myself is to write in this blog on a more regular basis. Not just articles but also my own thoughts and musings.

I also would love to hear more from our wonderful community of women!  So, my hope is that if I communicate with you more, you will be moved to write comments also. I know how bright and savvy you all are, and how much you have to share and how much we can learn from you.

I hope that for those of you in the US, that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving week.  We had eight people for dinner which isn’t as many as some of you may have had but I still spent much of Wednesday getting ready.

One of the things I learned from my mother was to always have the table set the night before, cut up the celery, onions or whatever else the day before and simply just do as much ahead of time as possible.  There always seems to be that one or two extra trips to the grocery store even though I try really hard to prevent that from happening. There always seems to be that one thing I forgot.

In spite of all the planning and organizing, the best part is being surrounded by people you love, and who love you back, unconditionally.  We are fortunate enough to not have to worry about putting food on the table or keeping a roof over our heads.  Many family’s are blessed with good health all round. This was my first Thanksgiving when I had no parents to call, which was dearly missed.  Many of you may know my husband is in stage IV cancer, but he is hanging in there, just as he usually does. For that, we are all grateful.

My wishes for you this week is to not let that one day where we purposefully talk about what we are grateful for slip away easily………but that every day, every single day, we write down, say out loud and think to ourselves, how lucky we are and what we are grateful for.  That in itself will lead to more gratefulness.  You certainly can’t have too much!
